I bought this item as a gift for a friend, and we were both delighted with its quality and charm. The watch is solid but not overly chunky; getting to see the working gears through the glass panelling is an extra treat. I highly recommend this to any fan of beautiful accoutrements.

This watch keeps excellent time and is well crafted. I have bought several traditional style pocket watches (mostly battery operated) over the years with varying degrees of success on how well they keep time, so I am very pleased with the accuracy of the works in this mechanism. Added to that the beautiful design of the covers and I am very happy with this purchase.

This is a well-priced mechanical semi-metal pocket watch that has a fabulous design and is lovely to behold. It was appropriate for its purpose and we are pleased, at least so far!

We are very pleased with this watch. The black perforated cover is very elegant, allowing just a hint of the face and works to show through. The face is highly readable with black on white numerals. An unexpected surprise was the elegantly embossed back also with a window to see the works.

Great watch love that it's wind up and never needs a battery. Look amazing , works amazing, couldn't be happier.

I ordered this pocketwatch to add to my boyfriend's collection. He was amazed at the detail work of the design as well as the black metal. It is a very nice piece. The ladies can use it was well as the gents, the cover opens to reveal modern glow-in-the-dark watch face and the back has a small window to reveal the gears which are functional. I love that it's a wind up instead of a battery operated mechanism. This is a perfect addition to his collection and I will continue to add using pieces from the Historical Emporium.

Well , this pocket watch is the most beautiful and interesting pocket watch i have ever seen...it is really cool , seeing the clock work parts through the glass easily , the fine detailed design , and the metal has such a unique color to it , its not black really, its like a light black or something...but trust me , its MUCH better than a standard dark black , its glossy light black look , almost looks like its from another world. it is also a good size , not to small or big and it is easy to use since its a simple/standard old fashioned pocket watch ( just got to wind it every day )....when it works , and that is the problem...it is fragile...i take good care of my stuff and i wound it every day and it kept the time well...then one day , it just stopped moving...no matter what i do , it will not function any more and i only had it for less than 2 weeks , it broke as of this very day ( ironically the same time by coincidence that i got a email , asking for me to review this ). This watch is only 40 bucks about...that is a cheap price for something this great looking....but you get what you pay for. So , if you only want a pocket watch for looks and do not care if it can actually tell the time then this pocket watch is still a great option and i think you should get it since its looks are top notch. its fragile tho.... But if you want it to tell time and want to rely on it...do NOT get this pocket watch , it is fragile and should not be taken out of the house probably...

I am in love with the pocket watch I purchased. Shipping was fast. Some of the other reviews almost turned me off of the purchase. So glad I went ahead and got the watch anyway because my husband is going to love it. :)

not sure but the latch on mine broke rather quickly...only a few days... only real complaint. the watch is beautiful and after i figured out how to actually work a pocket watch it works wonderfully...might stick a little around 11 o clock...not sure if it was only a one time thing... its wonderful though

Fantastic product. I bought this for my husband as a birthday gift and he absolutely loves it. It is very good quality at an extremely reasonable price (as we live in the UK I had to pay duty on it and it's still worth the price!). It looks great on the website but is so much nicer when you actually see and handle it- very intricate, heavy, but not too heavy, a nice solid piece with a chain of a good length to stretch across the waistcoat front. I guarantee you won't be disappointed if you buy this watch.
