"Honest" John Poole - Law Abider

Rumors from camp: During the latter part of June, the camp was infested with a gang of desperadoes, composed of our own men, who did not hesitate in the dead hour of night to murder any one who might have succeeded in retaining money or valuables in their possession, burying their bodies in the swamp. It was discovered that an organized gang of eighty lawless characters had banded themselves together for the purpose of plunder, who hesitated at no deed to accomplish their object.

Mr. Poole has denied any involvement.
