A few weeks ago I purchased a "Forty-niner" vest from H.E. and it's wonderful. It fits well and I've never had so many compliments over a piece of clothing. But the "Baker City" vest has a square cut bottom that is way too high. I am 5'10" with a 33" waist and the size Large vest bottom is at least 2" higher than my waist line. Bummer. I returned it for an "Emerald Isle" vest and it's great. If you are of average height and weight stay away from this style. BTW, the turn-around for exchanging the vests took less than a week. I am impressed with H.E.'s customer service.

A very nice vest (as may be evident from the picture), made of a very nice, though somewhat delicate, fabric. This vest ought to be kept for special occasions and not for general everyday use.One additional note: if you mean to attach your watch chain through a button hole, be aware that the corresponding button will have a tendency to fall back through its hole.

Looks great, fits great, feels great. This was my very first purchase from Gentleman's Emporium, about a year ago, and it remains my favorite. The fit on this vest feels more nuanced than the Bancroft vest, which otherwise looks like the same cut.
