Our faithful reproduction pith helmet is in the style synonymous with British colonial and foreign service history.
Produced in Vietnam by artisans who understand the need for a good pith helmet, the body of the helmet is made from tree heart (pith) following the style of 100 years ago, and can sustain heavy sunlight as well as rainfall.
Features a khaki canvas exterior, vented roof, interior dark green shade cloth, and adjustable faux -leather sweatband. One size fits most -- the sweatband accommodates up to approximately size 7 3/8 -- but the helmet can comfortably be worn "high" on larger heads.
Great product - as shown in catalogue/on line - good quality - unfortunately, if you order from Canada, you end up paying more than twice the price due to shipping, customs, duty etc.

Smells Like Diesel Fuel

My spouse absolutely loved the pith helmet for his steampunk costume. The only problem is that it smells of diesel fuel. I spent time spraying Febreze inside and out and we left it out to air. Eventually, the smell subsided somewhat but it is still there.

I have wanted one of these for a long time. I wasn't disappointed. I'd checked around for pricing.. This was the best price for the same item. Quality is as expected. Since I don't plan to wear the chinstrap, that isn't a factor. I am most pleased. If I ever get the proper British outfit, I would order a white one too.
