Even though it’s not strictly historically accurate, we couldn’t resist this boldly styled and magnificently appointed regency cut men’s tailcoat in a rich brocade fabric.
This spectacular coat features an extreme split swallow tail patterned after military dress coats of the Napoleonic era. The short jacket features a double row of antiqued silver buttons, and oversized buttoned cuffs, two interior breast pockets, and is fully satin lined for comfort.
USA-made, poly-acetate blend shell and 100% rayon lining. Dry clean only. Offered in sizes S - 3X.
Historical notes: while extremely stylish, this garment is anachronistic. Such exaggerated tails would be considered eccentric, only occasionally observed in the early nineteenth century, and the use of embroidered or brocade fabrics in coats was usually reserved for nobility or occasions of state.
To measure your chest: Raise your arms slightly and measure just under your arms. Be sure to cross over the shoulder blades and the fullest part of the chest. If your belly measures larger than your chest, use the larger measure.

Purchased this for my boyfriend for Christmas, and gave it to him last. Truly was his Red Rider BB Gun! Fabulous Fit, and has been very striking with each of the three coordinated pieces he's worn it with so far! Very appropriate for Steampunk, Circus Punk, any Saints Game, or a Night Out on the Town (we live in New Orleans)! Some reviews claimed the coat tails were loooong, but at 6'4'', they are very appropriate for him, hanging to his mid-calf. Beautiful piece of work!

The fabric is just as fantastic in person as it is in the photos. The cut is a little weird, though, for three reasons. First, the tails really are outrageously long, more so than you might think from looking at the photo since the photo doesn't quite stretch down to the model's feet. Fortunately the patterned fabric is used on the inside as well as the outside, so if you wanted to halve their length by pin the tails up you can. Second, the front of the waist is cut a little awkwardly because the lapels end pretty high on the chest for a tailcoat. Third, my shoulders slope steeply down, and this tailcoat has no shoulder pads at all; I had a tailor add some for me, and the garment took them pretty easily. Overall though, I'm still very...

The cut of this coat is beautiful. The shape is very flattering to a gentleman of my proportions. The fabric patterning is bold but subtle. My only carp is the supplied antique silver buttons which are not to my taste (too tall and ornate) I am replacing them with brass buttons, although a patterned style still seems to work better than a plain smooth style.I love his coat!
