Just before the turn of the century, the modern men’s tie began to come into fashion. It was commonly used for daywear and was worn either snugged against the throat in a small half Windsor or slightly loosened in a large full Windsor.
Firstly, this tie is not satin. It's polyester. The webpage does say 'satin' and while I didn't believe it was a satin tie for a second, it really should be advertised properly. Secondly, this tie is simply a modern black tie. A 19th Century tie should be shorter. Thankfully I'm fairly tall, so I can make it fit - just, but a lot of smaller guys are going to have this tie poking out under their waistcoats, which is definitely a 19th / early 20th Century fashion faux-pas. Still, if you can make it fit, and if you're above 5ft 10" tall, it looks good.
