The lighterweight choice for daywear during the mid to late 1800's. The Cutaway Coat, also known as a Morning or Swallowtail Coat, vied with the Frock for popularity. With it's curved front panel, this elegant choice is far less bulky than the Frock and excellent for all day comfort and style. This style is often seen paired with pinstriped pants. Our modern version of the popular coat is made of 100% wool. The upper torso is fully lined with 100% acetate, while the tails are self lined for a finished look. Imported.
Our coats are made with typical American sizing, meaning your chest measurement (in inches) is the size you should choose.
To measure your chest: Raise your arms slightly and measure just under your arms. Be sure to cross over the shoulder blades and the fullest part of the chest. If your belly measures larger than your chest, use your belly measurement for coat size.
Longs: If indicated in the selection list (e.g. 46L,) long sizes may also be available. Longs are approximately 2" longer in the back and sleeves.

Like the fabric because it will be worn at a summer event. However, it ran one-size smaller than my husband's normal jacket size. We exchanged it without a problem. I would recommend ordering in advance of any event you need the outfit for to give yourself time to try it out for fit.

This coat was a great purchase - it was delivered promptly, in excellent condition, and fit very well. The sizing information is quite accurate! One thing to note - it IS rather warm to wear for extended periods of time, so do keep that in mind when considering this item.

I needed something unique to wear at my best friend's wedding - I am to be her 'man of honour' - and this was just what I was looking for! I'm wearing it with the wing tip collar shirt, a black silk bow tie and the most fashionable dark wash slim fit jeans I can find - it's that kind of wedding! It's going to be an outdoor garden wedding, in the month of September, so this is JUST PERFECT in every way! It needed only a small amount of altering to make it a bit more tailored through the middle and the seamstress I used said the construction of the jacket was excellent and very easy to alter.All in all a fabulous purchase and a great jacket!

It's not easy to find these coats in long sizes. Very good quality, and the sizing was accurate. Be aware that the coat has no outside hip pockets.
